Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline, discovered the news of his and Holly Ramsay's pregnancy through a formal text message, according to a source. The message was sent just as Holly posted the announcement on social media, highlighting the ongoing estrangement between Peaty and his parents.
Formal Text Instead of a Happy Call
Caroline was on holiday when the news broke. A source told the Mail: "Caroline was on holiday. She received a very formal text. We don't want to divulge the content but it was brief and to the point. It was sent as Holly posted the news on Instagram. There was no happy gathering, no phone call just a brief mobile message."
Despite the strained relationship, Caroline expressed happiness for the couple. The source said: "I am happy for them. News of a new baby is always welcome." However, the source added that the rift between Adam and his family is "beyond healing."
Estrangement and Previous Comments
Peaty, 31, did not invite his parents to his wedding to Holly Ramsay in December 2025. Last year, Caroline said her son was "under Gordon's clutches," referring to Holly's father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. She stated: "I know he feels I am not good enough for his new family. He's under Gordon's clutches. I can't help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular, it's their group, and it's as if he is being groomed by them."
She added: "Adam has broken my heart but I love my son and always will, he's still my little boy, and I hope his marriage is a good one and I hope he has a happy life like his mum and dad have."

Holly and Adam announced they are expecting a baby girl in December 2026. Holly shared a photo of her growing bump on Instagram with the caption: "Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can't wait to meet our baby girl." This will be the first child for the couple, and a half-sibling for Adam's five-year-old son George, whom he shares with former partner Eirianedd 'Eiri' Munro.
