Love Island Couple to Wed in Majorca
Molly Smith, 32, and Tom Clare, 26, are set to marry in Majorca this August, having met on the 2024 series of Love Island All Stars. The couple exclusively shared details of their upcoming nuptials with the Mirror, revealing that the choice of venue was influenced by Tom's struggle with seasonal depression.
Why Majorca?
Tom explained: 'We wanted to get married in Majorca, because that’s where it all began, even if it’s not where we met.' The couple considered other destinations like France and Italy but fell in love with a venue on the Spanish island. A destination wedding was always the plan 'because of the weather,' with Tom admitting he gets 'serious seasonal depression' during gloomy weather. 'I’m happiest when the sun is shining,' he said.
Hen and Stag Parties
Molly's hen do blended wellness and partying, while Tom's stag party in Las Vegas was documented on Instagram. A notable moment included Tom and friends wearing bright pink shorts featuring Molly's face, which Molly jokingly threatened to burn. Tom entrusted his best man, fellow Love Islander Casey O'Gorman, with planning the stag, saying: 'I think Casey was destined to be a best man. I think he killed it.'
Wedding Planning and Fairy Light 'Wobble'
The couple admitted the planning process was 'stressful' at times. Tom confessed to a 'wobble' over the cost of fairy lights: 'When I saw the fairy light cost and stuff like that – let’s just say, there were a few questionable things!' Despite this, they remained on the same page, with Tom adding: 'We have the same taste and I think that’s why we work so well together.'
Love Island Friendships
Several former Islanders will attend the wedding, including Casey O'Gorman, Mitch Taylor, Josh Ritchie, and Sophie Piper. Molly noted that strong friendships form in the villa: 'You’re in there with people 24/7. It’s inevitable that you make connections with people.'
Getting Wedding-Ready
Both have been preparing in the gym, but Molly emphasized that her workouts are for enjoyment, not to meet a certain size: 'As long as you’re the healthiest and happiest version of yourself, that’s all that matters.'
