Allison Janney has revealed a dramatic hair transformation, opting for a short grey pixie cut inspired by fellow actress Helen Mirren. The 61-year-old star of Mom said she made the decision during the first coronavirus lockdown when her natural grey roots began to show.
Speaking on People TV’s One Last Thing, Janney described the change as a 'brave' choice. 'It started out with just COVID choices,' she explained. 'I was in Ohio for five months of the pandemic. My natural colour started growing in, which is grey. And then I thought, you know, I’ve always wanted to cut it off and do a Helen Mirren thing. I just wanted to try.'
The actress has since shared several photos on Instagram showcasing her new look, including a striking image of her in a white gown leaning against a grand piano. Janney is not alone in embracing grey hair; Andie MacDowell recently revealed she stopped colouring her hair after her daughters called her 'badass', while Salma Hayek and Eva Longoria have also displayed greying locks.
