Amanda Owen on Ex Clive and Co-Parenting on Neighbouring Farms

Amanda Owen has offered a brief comment on her relationship with her ex-husband, Clive, as they continue to work closely together despite their split. The couple, who share nine children, ended their 22-year marriage in 2022 but remain neighbours and collaborators on farming and renovation projects.

Life After Separation: 'Business as Usual Without the Romance'

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Amanda said: "People assume that because I’m separated from my husband Clive, things are harder, but in fact it’s the opposite. We have two farms that are basically next door to each other, so it’s close enough for it to be useful, but far enough to have space."

Amanda first met Clive in 1996 while working as a trainee shepherdess at the farm at age 21. They married in 2000 and went on to welcome nine children, all of whom featured on their Channel 5 programme, Our Yorkshire Farm, which followed their lives on Ravenseat farm.

Co-Parenting and Resilience

At the time of the split, Amanda described it as "business as usual without the romance." She acknowledged that single parenting is tough but emphasised resilience. "That’s the price you pay," she told the publication. "You can’t have it all one way, you have to take the rough with the smooth. If there’s one thing farming teaches you, it’s resilience."

She added: "I used to think resilience was about dealing with the weather, the mud and the blood. But you also have to be resilient when it comes to social media and living life in the public eye."

Public Life and Social Media

Speaking on a recent podcast, Amanda revealed that her children keep her informed about what is written about her. She said she often replies, "What now? I’ve ridden a horse in a bikini? Yes, I did and I put it up online and I am proud!"
