Wedding Planner Preston Bailey Expresses Surprise Over Brooklyn Beckham's Family Stand
Preston Bailey, a renowned celebrity wedding planner who has worked with high-profile clients such as Donald and Melania Trump, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, and Michael Douglas, has publicly commented on his experience organising the 2022 nuptials of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz. This comes in the wake of Brooklyn's recent bombshell statement against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which Bailey described as surprising.
Bailey's Reflections on the Couple and Planning Process
In an interview with Page Six, Bailey revealed that he was taken aback by Brooklyn's stance, stating, "It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents. That's not the Brooklyn I met as far as him being this nice, gentle guy. He was just a nice, regular person who would say hello and chit chat." He emphasised that during the 11 months he was involved in the wedding planning, Brooklyn was very much involved and there was never any tension between the couple.
Addressing rumours that Nicola Peltz might be controlling, Bailey dismissed such claims, noting, "I don't remember her being bossy. I remember a lot of affection between them." He added that Nicola would not approve any wedding-related decisions without Brooklyn's consent, highlighting their collaborative approach.
Limited Contact with the Beckhams and Subsequent Legal Disputes
Despite his role, Bailey never had any direct contact with David or Victoria Beckham, as his interactions were solely with Brooklyn and Nicola, either via Zoom or at the Peltz family home in Palm Beach. After Bailey stepped back from the wedding due to his hectic schedule, he was replaced by Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba, who were brought in just six weeks before the event but were let go after only nine days.
This led to a legal dispute, with Nicola's father, Nelson Peltz, filing a lawsuit to recover a $159,000 deposit. Braghin and Grijalba countersued for breach of contract, but both parties settled in September 2023. As part of the settlement, Plan Design agreed to make a donation in the name of Nicola and Brooklyn to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund. The planners were subsequently replaced by Michelle Rago to oversee the final arrangements.
Broader Implications and Public Interest
The ongoing family feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents has captivated public attention, with Bailey's insights offering a unique perspective from someone closely involved in their wedding preparations. His comments underscore the contrast between the private, amicable dynamics he witnessed and the current public discord, adding depth to the narrative surrounding this celebrity saga.
