Billie Eilish has spoken candidly about her 'toxic relationship' with her body, revealing that wearing baggy clothes brought her a sense of 'relief'. The 24-year-old singer, known for her oversized fashion, told Elle magazine that she has struggled with 'a lot of eating issues' throughout her life.
Eilish explained that her fashion choices were also driven by a desire 'to be a man' and avoid being seen as feminine, which she described as an example of internalised misogyny. 'This is the misogyny that we all have within us... which is that I didn't want to be seen as feminine, and therefore weak,' she said.
The Grammy-winning artist recently won song of the year at the 2026 awards for her track 'Wildflower', from her album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft'. She has also co-directed a concert film, 'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour', with filmmaker James Cameron.
At the UK premiere of the documentary, Eilish praised her fans, saying: 'I feel like the connection that I have with the fans is what it's all about for me... They are as important as me in the movie, if not more so.' She described her hands-on role in the film's production as 'magical'.
