Bonnie Tyler in Induced Coma After Intestinal Surgery

Bonnie Tyler's management has confirmed that the singer has been placed into an induced coma to aid her recovery following emergency intestinal surgery. The 74-year-old, best known for hits like Holding Out For A Hero and Total Eclipse of the Heart, was initially reported to be stable after an operation in Portugal.

However, a statement released by her spokesperson on Thursday revealed a deterioration in her condition. The statement read: "Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery. We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please. We will issue a further statement when we are able to."

The news of her surgery was first shared on Instagram on Wednesday, stating that she had been admitted to a hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she owns a home. The post noted that the surgery went well and she was recuperating.
