The 2021 documentary 'Framing Britney Spears' examined his treatment of her, sparking fan backlash.
In response, Timberlake issued a statement on Instagram apologising to Spears and Janet Jackson. He admitted benefiting from a system that 'condones misogyny and racism' and said he wanted to 'take accountability for my own missteps.' His wife Jessica Biel commented 'I love you' on the post.
Spears, freed from her conservatorship in 2021, has now dismissed the apology as insincere, highlighting the ongoing impact of his past actions.
