Britney Spears Slams Justin Timberlake's Apology After Abortion Revelation

Britney Spears has publicly criticised Justin Timberlake's 2021 apology, following her revelation that she had an abortion at age 19 after falling pregnant with his child. In a new interview, the singer said she made the decision because Timberlake told her he did not want to be a father.

The pop stars dated from 1999 to 2002, with their split turning acrimonious. Timberlake later launched his solo career, including a music video for 'Cry Me A River' featuring a Britney lookalike, which fuelled speculation she had cheated. The 2021 documentary 'Framing Britney Spears' examined his treatment of her, sparking fan backlash.

In response, Timberlake issued a statement on Instagram apologising to Spears and Janet Jackson. He admitted benefiting from a system that 'condones misogyny and racism' and said he wanted to 'take accountability for my own missteps.' His wife Jessica Biel commented 'I love you' on the post.
