Chantelle Houghton, 40, has said she and her ex-husband Preston will be 'friends for life' after meeting on Celebrity Big Brother nearly 20 years ago. The former winner spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk ahead of the show's return after a five-year break.
Chantelle entered the 2006 series as a fake celebrity, convincing housemates she was part of a girl group called Kandy Floss. She won the series and a £25,000 prize, and met Preston in the house. They got engaged and married four months later in London's Mayfair on August 25, 2006, but divorced on November 21, 2007.
Despite the split, Chantelle said they remain in touch and share fond memories. 'We still speak, we still message,' she said. 'He will just send me a funny thing which happened from the past and I will be in fits of giggles.' She added that getting married was a highlight, saying: 'I know it didn't last all that long but what a story to be able to tell my daughter when she is older.'
Chantelle shares nine-year-old daughter Dolly with ex Alex Reid.
