Chelsy Davy, the former girlfriend of Prince Harry, has publicly announced the arrival of her third child in a heartfelt Mother's Day social media post. The 40-year-old ex-City lawyer and jewellery designer shared the joyful news on her Instagram account, revealing she gave birth to a "little boy" named Finn just last week.
A Tribute to Motherhood
In her emotional message accompanying sweet photographs of her cradling the newborn while his two older siblings looked on lovingly, Davy reflected on the profound experience of returning to "those hazy newborn days." She described this period as "a beautiful reminder of just how remarkable mothers are" in her candid post.
The businesswoman, who runs her jewellery and luxury travel brand Aya, acknowledged the challenges of balancing career and family life. "Running Aya alongside raising Finn, Chloe and Leo is a juggle, but it's one I've chosen," she wrote with refreshing honesty.
Celebrating Personal Freedom
Davy used her platform to celebrate the modern freedom women have to shape their lives according to personal values and aspirations. "One of the wonderful things about the world we live in today is that many of us have that freedom - to shape our lives in the way that feels right, whether that includes motherhood, a career, creativity, or something entirely different," she expressed thoughtfully.
Concluding her Mother's Day tribute, she added: "This Mother's Day, I'm embracing the juggle I've chosen - and celebrating all of you embracing yours. Wishing you a very happy Mother's Day. Chelsy x."
A Private Family Life
Chelsy Davy, who dated Prince Harry on-and-off for seven years from 2004 until their final split in 2011, has maintained an exceptionally private personal life in recent years. She married Eton-educated hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott in a secret ceremony in 2022, with very few people aware of the wedding at the time according to friends.
The couple welcomed their first child, son Leo, in January 2022 in such discreet circumstances that even many of Davy's close friends were unaware she was pregnant during lockdown. The birth only became public knowledge three months later when the newborn was introduced to their local parish council in Norfolk.
Growing Family
In September 2024, Davy similarly revealed in low-key fashion that she had welcomed her second child, a daughter believed to be named Chloe. The arrival of Finn now completes their family of five, with the couple reportedly splitting their time between a townhouse in Chiswick and the Norfolk coast.
Sam Cutmore-Scott, who was in the year above Prince Harry at Eton College, serves as managing director at The Harper Hotel in Holt, the family business. He is the brother of Hollywood actor Jack Cutmore-Scott, known for roles in Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning film Tenet and the drama series Deception.
From Royal Romance to Private Happiness
Davy's relationship with Prince Harry was once considered serious enough that palace officials noted they had begun using pet names "wifey" and "hubby" for each other. The Zimbabwe-born former party girl attended significant royal events including Prince Charles's 60th birthday celebrations and met the Queen at Peter Phillips's wedding.
However, the pressures of conflicting careers and long separations during Harry's military service in Afghanistan ultimately ended the relationship. Harry had reportedly told friends before their 2011 split that Davy was "the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Since stepping away from the royal spotlight, Davy has built a successful career while maintaining her privacy. She revealed in 2020 that she had a serious new boyfriend without naming him, explaining at the time: "There is someone, and I am quite taken by this one, but it's very new and I don't want to say too much." This relationship ultimately led to her marriage and growing family with Cutmore-Scott.
