Chrissy Teigen's Christmas Dental Drama: Chipped Tooth Fixed After Candy Cane Mishap
Chrissy Teigen's chipped tooth fixed for Christmas feast

Model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen is set to fully enjoy her Christmas dinner after a last-minute dental repair fixed a chipped front tooth. The festive mishap occurred just days before the holiday.

A Sticky Situation: The Candy Cane Incident

The 40-year-old wife of singer John Legend revealed over the weekend that she broke a piece off one of her front teeth in a rather unconventional way. She was attempting to unwrap a candy cane using only her mouth.

The accident happened while Teigen was engaged in a creative arts and crafts project with her four children. The family was sticking candy canes into flowerpots filled with crumbled Oreo cookies to make them resemble plants.

From Dentist's Chair to Christmas Cheer

Shortly after the accident, Teigen took to Instagram, sharing a video from the dentist's office where the issue was being addressed. She humorously captioned an initial post about the injury, writing: 'Merry chrithmath from our family to yours!!!!!!!'

She also posted multiple selfies showcasing the chipped tooth, confessing in one that she 'had to go to a school recital like this.'

By Christmas Eve, however, the dental work was complete. Teigen indirectly revealed her restored smile in an Instagram Story. The post focused on the New York Times spelling bee, but included a beaming, open-mouthed selfie that showed her teeth perfectly reconstructed.

A Glamorous Christmas Day Outing

With her smile back to its former glory, Teigen and her family made a glamorous public appearance on Christmas Day. They joined a host of celebrities sitting courtside at New York's Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks play the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For the outing, Teigen wore a high-cut outfit that showed off her legs and a stylish white coat with a feather trim. Other famous faces in attendance included NFL star Russell Wilson and his wife, singer Ciara, who turned heads in a set of gleaming leather overalls. Rapper Fat Joe was also seen intently watching the game.

The festive period marks another step in Teigen's gradual return to public life following the 2021 cyberbullying scandal involving Courtney Stodden. Teigen has since referred to herself as a member of the 'cancel club.' Her comeback included an appearance this year on Meghan Markle's Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which drew some criticism.

Stodden, now 31, later stated on social media that people should not bully Teigen, adding 'Two wrongs do not make a right.' However, they also claimed that a supportive message sent to Teigen during the Netflix show controversy was ignored.
