Coronation Street star Gareth Pierce, known for playing Todd Grimshaw, leads a quiet family life away from the soap's dramatic storylines. The actor, who joined the ITV show in 2020, is married to Amy Lee Pierce, with whom he tied the knot in 2014. The couple share a young daughter, though Gareth makes a concerted effort to keep his family life private, rarely sharing pictures of their faces on social media.
Currently, Todd is at the centre of a harrowing storyline exploring abuse in a same-sex partnership. His on-screen partner Theo Silverton has been manipulating and abusing him, with the abuse escalating to physical violence. In Monday's episode, Theo pulled a knife on Todd, claiming he had jeopardised his birthday celebrations.
Speaking about parenthood, Gareth previously told Inside Soap: 'The cuddles! And it's nice to reconnect with your own childhood too. It opens a window back to the things you enjoyed before you were too cool!' He also acknowledged that the dark storylines could be uncomfortable for his family to watch, telling The Mirror: 'My wife and daughter dip into Coronation Street occasionally and they're hugely supportive, but this story will be a very uncomfortable watch for any family member of mine.'
In October last year, Gareth shared a rare glimpse into his family life on Instagram, posting a video of himself, Amy, and their daughter at Haim's concert in Cardiff. He captioned the post: 'Thanks to @haimtheband @livenationuk @utilitaarenacardiff. She's done some festivals, but our girl's first proper gig experience was AMAZING.'
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
