Coronation Street fans have been praising Tina O'Brien's performance as Sarah Platt after her long-running character's killer secret was finally revealed. This week, viewers of the ITV soap learned that Sarah was responsible for the death of Theo Silverton, whose lifeless body was discovered by Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor back in April.
Flashback Reveals Sarah as Theo's Killer
The truth emerged in a dark flashback, showing Sarah dealing the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off scaffolding outside his flat. After his death, a murder investigation began, with six suspects including Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton. However, it was Sarah who was the real culprit, and she later confessed to Todd during a visit to Weatherfield on June 25.
In the episode, Todd confronted Sarah after Gary Windass hinted that the answer to Kit Green's investigation was right under his nose. Sarah, tired of Todd blaming Gary, admitted she pushed Theo. She then recounted the events of that night before Todd left, leaving her unsure if he would go to the police.
