Dianne Buswell has become the latest celebrity to be linked to the so-called 'Strictly curse', following her split from Anthony Quinlan. The professional dancer has dismissed the notion that the show is to blame for relationship breakdowns, insisting that the curse is a myth.
The 'Strictly curse' has allegedly struck again this year, with Buswell and Quinlan ending their relationship, and Seann Walsh being dumped by his girlfriend after being pictured kissing his dance partner Katya Jones. Jones, who is married to fellow Strictly professional Neil Jones, has insisted her marriage is 'absolutely fine'.
Past victims of the curse include Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole, who were rumoured to have had an affair during the first series in 2004. Kaplinsky was married at the time, while Cole was in a relationship with another dancer. Cole later stated that he was single during the show and 'never crossed any lines'.
Other high-profile splits include Karen Clifton and Kevin Clifton, who separated in 2018 but vowed to remain professional partners. Louise Redknapp also divorced her husband Jamie Redknapp after appearing on the show in 2016, citing a lack of time spent together.
