Dog missing for month found partying with Mexico fans

A dog owner whose pooch went missing for a month was stunned when she spotted him out 'partying' in the streets with jubilant Mexican World Cup fans.

Disappearance and Discovery

Alejandra Garcia's beloved pet Gorda vanished on May 24 from her home in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Despite a desperate search, she was unable to find a single trace of the 6-month-old mutt.

However, following Mexico's dramatic 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic, Alejandra's brother suddenly noticed something extraordinary in video footage of the celebrations.

Caught on Camera

Scrolling through sensational video of overjoyed El Tri fans, he spotted a clip of one supporter carrying a dog as he paraded through the streets in Ciudad Victoria. The video, captioned 'even the dog is out celebrating', showed a cute puppy being lifted into the air by fans dancing and singing.

Alejandra's brother quickly realized the dog being carried was none other than Gorda. The family then tracked down the location of the video and were able to find their missing pet who was still out partying.

Emotional Reunion

After a month of searching, Gorda was finally reunited with a stunned Alejandra, who wrote on Facebook: 'After a month of worrying, I never imagined we'd find her thanks to a live video of the celebrations after Mexico won.'

'It was a mix of emotions: I wanted to cry, to laugh, to hug her and even to scold her at the same time. While we were worried looking for her, she was out partying!'

She added: 'I found her without even meaning to. She's now back in my house.'

Viral Reaction

The story, which has gone viral in Alejandra's native Mexico, prompted several users to quote a phrase popular in the central American country. As one user put it: 'In Mexico we have a saying that goes "No estaba muerto, andaba de parranda" which translates to "they weren't dead, they were out partying" which perfectly applies to Gorda here!'

Another X user posted: 'I love this update on Gorda. She needs her own book with stories of her adventures. So happy she was safely reunited with her family after partying hard.'

Another joked: 'Lmfao just imagine being so worried for your lost dog and then you see sports fans celebrating with her and she's just casually dangling from some guy's arms, just chilling.'
