Ed Westwick and his wife Amy Jackson's love was on full display at the Cannes Film Festival, as the couple packed on the PDA from their hotel balcony on Friday. Despite being in full view of those below, it seemed the couple forgot anyone was watching, as they enjoyed a tender moment before heading to The Birthday Party premiere.
A Stunning Appearance
Dressed in a stunning black gown, Amy left her husband Ed enamoured with her appearance as they posed together. The couple tied the knot on August 23, 2024, and welcomed their first child together, son Oscar, in May 2025. Amy also has a son, Andreas Panayiotou, five, from a previous relationship.
Amy went on to show off her stunning gown as she posed on the Cannes red carpet, joining stars including Gillian Anderson and Eva Longoria at the premiere. The happy couple shared insights into their lavish Italian wedding last summer.
Wedding Details
Ed took to his Instagram to announce they had tied the knot at the Castello di Rocca Cilento. For her big day, Amy wore a sweeping white satin gown with a flattering strapless neckline and full princess-style skirt, teamed with a long veil with intricate lace detailing. Meanwhile, Ed cut a dashing figure in a cream blazer and black trousers, teamed with a white button-up shirt and a bow tie. The romantic photos showed the couple gazing adoringly at each other while surrounded by white roses. Captioning the gorgeous snaps, Ed gushed: 'The journey has just begun' followed by a ring emoji.
How They Met
Ed first met Amy at Silverstone racetrack in 2021, with a source telling The Sun on Sunday at the time: 'Ed and Amy are a really good match. They hit it off straight away. Both like to have fun and are career-driven. They're enjoying getting to know each other for now.' The couple went Instagram official just before Valentine's Day in 2022, with Amy penning a sweet note on her social media just in time for the occasion. She wrote: 'Happy Valentine's Baby - forever grateful for the endless belly laughs and ultimate love!'
Cannes Film Festival Highlights
This year for the Cannes Film Festival, Demi Moore joins Hamnet director Chloé Zhao and actor Stellan Skarsgård on the jury. Organisers unveiled the nine-member jury that will deliberate on the films in competition at the annual French Riviera festival in May. As previously announced, South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook is president of the jury. Alongside him, Moore, Zhao, and Skarsgård, the jurors are: Irish-Ethiopian actor Ruth Negga, Belgian director and screenwriter Laura Wandel, Chilean director and screenwriter Diego Céspedes, Ivorian American actor Isaach De Bankolé, and Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty.
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the opening press conference, Demi said she felt 'tremendously honoured to be here.' She said: 'It's such a beautiful experience and one just to be surrounded by cinema and the love of cinema, and the joy of diving in and being surrounded by those who share that is just – I just felt like a joy. And who can complain about the beautiful view of this incredible place? But yes, I just feel tremendously honoured and I'm super excited. I really – I feel like a little kid getting to play a grown-up. You know, prior I had only ever attended the Cannes Film Festival once, and that was only as someone's plus one. And so to be sitting here today, I am really, really tremendously honoured.'
This year, the Cannes Film Festival will honour filmmaker Peter Jackson with a Palme d'Or. Festival organisers announced Jackson as a recipient in March for what they hailed as 'a body of work that blends Hollywood blockbusters and films d'auteur with extraordinary artistic vision and technological audacity.' The Lord of the Rings director, in a statement, called the honour 'one of the greatest privileges of my career.' Last year, Cannes gave honorary Palme d'Or prizes to Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington. This year's edition runs for twelve days from May 12 to May 23.
