Foo Fighters have promised to return to Liverpool after playing two electrifying shows at Anfield stadium on June 25 and 27, 2026. Frontman Dave Grohl showered the city with praise, calling it "f***ing awesome" and hinting at future plans to come back.
Band's Love Affair with Liverpool
During the second show, Grohl addressed the crowd: "I'm going to be real with you. I wish every day was exactly like this. You guys are so f***ing awesome. Thank you so much. But I kind of have a feeling that it's just this place and these people. I don't think anywhere else is like this. I think it means we might need to come back. I've got a plan."
The band's connection to the UK runs deep. Grohl recalled: "Some of our first shows ever were played here in the UK. Our first festival, Reading 1995. First show was King's College, we only had 12 songs, so we played 13. Ever since then this country has treated us like a home away from home."
Fans Share Their Stories
Fans travelled from across the country for the concerts. Joshuah Barlow, 16, and his nan Christine Barlow, 53, came from the Isle of Man. Christine said: "I've got videos of Josh headbanging to Foo Fighters in the back of the car when he was 18 months old and he's loved them ever since. I took him to his first concert when he was seven and we're hoping to go to quite a few more."
First-time Liverpool visitors Teri-Louise Pratt, 25, and Ryan Hurst, 27, from Derby, saw the band for the sixth time. Ryan said: "We went to the docks this morning and we've met such lovely people, we're really enjoying ourselves." Monique Cohen, 40, from Bedford, had seen them ten times already, adding: "What's not to love about the Foo Fighters. Their energy is amazing, and they're such nice guys. The fans are like a family too."
Memorable Moments on Stage
Before launching into 'All My Life', Grohl asked the crowd: "Are you ready? Are you f***ing ready? Do you want to dance? Come on!" He later shouted: "Do you mother f*****s love rock and roll music? Everything I learned about rock and roll came from this city, so come on!"
One lucky fan dressed as a packet of Mentos got on stage to dance and sing with the band, adding to the unforgettable atmosphere.
