Helen Flanagan has expressed frustration over her lack of acting work, revealing she feels unsure about her career direction. The 35-year-old actress, best known for her 18-year role as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, shared a personal video on Instagram with her 1.1 million followers.
Career Uncertainty and Personal Changes
In the video, Flanagan said: "I've just kind of felt like I've not really been sure of myself recently. I'm turning 36 in August, I've just done this house move, I'm kind of unsure where I am like, career-wise as well. There's a lot of change going on, and I don't know, I've just felt a bit weird in myself."
Since leaving the soap, Flanagan has appeared on Celebs Go Dating and performed on stage in Liverpool. She made her panto debut last Christmas as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the M&S Bank Arena.
Single Motherhood and Relocation Considerations
Flanagan split from partner Robbie Talbot last year after a year of dating. She shares three children—Matilda (10), Delilah (7), and Charlie (5)—with ex-fiancé footballer Scott Sinclair, from whom she separated in 2022 after 13 years together. She recently moved out of their family home in Greater Manchester.
Discussing a potential move, she said: "I'm in two minds about moving to London. I was going to buy here then I decided not to buy here so everything's just been a bit, like, all over the place."
Frustration with Acting Work
Flanagan added: "I've just felt frustrated with work as well because I really want to act and basically, I just want a job at the moment and feel frustrated in that way."
Despite the challenges, she remains fond of Liverpool, telling the Liverpool ECHO in April 2025 that she is "never out of Liverpool" due to its friendly atmosphere. Her favourite spots include the Municipal hotel, Castle Street's The Ivy, and San Carlo restaurant.
