Holly Ramsay has celebrated what she called her "last Christmas as a Miss" just days before her wedding to Olympic champion Adam Peaty, an occasion overshadowed by a very public rift with the swimmer's family.
A Festive Countdown to the Big Day
The 25-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to tie the knot with Team GB star Adam Peaty on Friday, December 27. The couple marked the festive season by sharing a romantic snap on social media. Peaty posted a picture of the pair holding hands outdoors to his Instagram Story with a simple "Merry Christmas!" caption.
Holly Ramsay, however, added a poignant note to her re-post of the image, writing over it: "Last Christmas as a Miss," and decorating the update with a string of emojis. The couple plan to exchange vows at the historic Bath Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, followed by festive drinks.
The Family Tension Overshadowing Celebrations
The build-up to the wedding has been marred by a feud that exploded into public view after the groom's mother, Caroline Peaty, was notably absent from Holly's glamorous hen party at Soho Farmhouse. The omission prompted Adam's aunt, Louise Williams, to publicly criticise the couple on social media for the "hurt" inflicted on the family.
Caroline Peaty revealed in a recent interview with the Daily Mail that she was at home looking after Adam's young son during the hen do, which was attended by Holly's mother Tana, Victoria Beckham, and close friends. She said the snub left her in tears and feeling so low she "didn't want to live."
She expressed a heartbreaking message for her son, stating: "The message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point... There's nothing you've done that I would not forgive."
Roots of the Rift and a Missed Milestone
According to Caroline, tensions began when her extended family was not invited to the couple's engagement party. She claims that after she texted Holly to express her feelings, Adam became angry. Caroline has also suggested she feels her son is in "Gordon's clutches," a comment that has deepened the ongoing rift.
Further strain was evident in the lead-up to Christmas when, during a couple's trip to Lapland, Adam Peaty made no public reference to his mother's milestone 60th birthday on Thursday, December 18, despite posting other updates. Caroline took to Instagram herself to confirm the birthday, sharing warm tributes from other family members.
As Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty prepare to say "I do," the question of whether the groom's mother will attend the lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey remains a poignant subplot to their wedding day.
