Jane McDonald Opens Up About Life With Best Friend and Tour Plans
Jane McDonald Shares Home Life Update on Lorraine

Jane McDonald has opened up about her personal life during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine. The 63-year-old TV star and singer joined host Lorraine Kelly on Friday, May 29, to share exciting career news and discuss her home arrangements.

Jane McDonald's Living the Dream Tour

Jane is set to embark on her Living the Dream tour across the UK this August, following a recent trip to Nashville where she recorded her latest album. She described the Nashville experience as "just the most amazing experience" to Lorraine.

Home Life With Best Friend Sue Ravey

After detailing what fans can expect from the tour, Lorraine asked about Jane's living situation. The Wakefield-born entertainer, whose fiance Eddie Rothe passed away five years ago from lung cancer, now lives with her best friend Sue Ravey. The pair have been seen together on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Jane said: "Everybody needs a Sue and everybody loves Sue and everybody wants to live with Sue." Lorraine chimed in: "But you've got her!" The singer continued: "It's great, it works. We're not joined at the hip. She's got her friends, I've got mine, but we have such a laugh together. It's great, it really is."

Nashville Documentary and Emotional Moments

Jane's trip to Nashville was featured in a two-part Channel 5 documentary that aired last month. During a clip shown on Lorraine, Jane was seen in tears as she admitted to always being "the underdog" and opened up about her career "struggles."

Jane, who rose to fame as a cruise ship singer known for her cabaret style, was recorded at the iconic Blackbird Studio, where she said "my country music dreams are being made." The team helped perfect her "country sound" for the new album. She admitted: "Today the musicians, the engineers and the producers are mixing the songs. This is the part of the process where it all comes together and I'm not going to lie, it's all a bit nerve-wracking."

Later, she broke down in tears as she listened to her track and the team applauded. She added: "It's blown my mind a little bit really. When I started here I thought 'what am I doing?' I've always felt my heart is in country as I'm a story teller. And when I write songs I write a story and this is my story."

Lorraine airs on ITV1 weekdays at 9.30am and is available on ITVX.
