Jenny McCarthy and her 23-year-old son, Evan Asher, made a rare public appearance together this week, attending a star-studded Hollywood premiere. The mother-son duo were all smiles as they arrived for the screening of Five Nights At Freddy's 2 at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre.
A Night Out in Hollywood
The former Playboy model opted for a stylishly casual look, wearing a long-sleeved purple sweater paired with ripped black jeans. She completed her outfit with black Louis Vuitton boots and carried a black purse, her platinum blonde hair flowing in light curls past her shoulders.
Her son, Evan, who towered over his mother, showcased his height in an all-black ensemble layered with an unzipped hoodie. The pair posed cheerfully for photographers, marking a special joint outing. Evan is the son McCarthy shares with her ex-husband, director John Asher, to whom she was married from 1999 until their divorce in 2005.
Evan Asher's Creative Pursuits
The 23-year-old is carving his own path in the creative industries. A self-professed fan of the Five Nights At Freddy's franchise, he recently experienced a themed haunted house attraction at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, calling it a dream come true on his Instagram.
Evan has built a presence online, with over 56,000 followers on Instagram. He runs a YouTube channel called Gaming USA, which he launched a decade ago and which now boasts around 32,000 subscribers. The channel focuses on bringing video games to life through original live-action adventures and movies.
In 2023, he expanded into music, releasing his first original song titled It Doesn't Matter. His stepfather, actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg, praised his work ethic, telling People magazine, "He had to put in a lot of work and prove that he was committed to the process." Wahlberg, who married Jenny McCarthy in 2014, is a founding member of the famous 90s boy band New Kids On The Block.
Family Life and Advocacy
McCarthy has been a vocal advocate in the autism community since revealing Evan's diagnosis in 2007. She has publicly linked his autism to the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine, a claim that has been widely disputed by the medical community. Earlier this year, she alleged on a podcast that a government agency attempted to smear her reputation after she began speaking out on the issue.
More recently, McCarthy has been open about her own health struggles, revealing she has undergone nine surgeries on her mouth following a severe infection linked to a dental implant. She told People she is now "past the storm" and looking forward to the holidays with her family.
Despite the media attention surrounding his family, Evan Asher continues to develop his interests in gaming, film, and music, building his own identity in the shadow of Hollywood fame.
