Joan Collins, 93, dazzles at London charity event

Dame Joan Collins turned heads with her remarkable appearance at The Shooting Star Ball in London on Saturday, demonstrating her timeless elegance while supporting a vital cause.

A Glamorous Night for Charity

The 93-year-old English actress led the celebrity contingent at the prestigious event, which raised funds for Shooting Star Children's Hospices. Collins made a spectacular entrance on the red carpet wearing a glitzy gold sequin off-the-shoulder gown that featured a dramatic leg split.

She completed her dazzling ensemble with gold metallic stilettos and accessorised with a chunky gold bangle and elegant drop earrings. The Dynasty icon posed for photographs alongside her fifth husband, 60-year-old producer and actor Percy Gibson, whom she married in 2002.

Star-Studded Attendance

The charity gala attracted numerous prominent figures, including Frida Redknapp, wife of footballer Jamie Redknapp. The Swedish model, 41, looked effortlessly chic in an off-the-shoulder midi-dress featuring a fringed bodice and thigh-high leg split.

Other notable attendees included actress Michelle Collins, who wore a sophisticated one-shoulder black gown, and actress and columnist Maureen Lipman, who opted for a purple metallic longline coat with matching scarf.

Collins' Remarkable Personal Journey

Joan Collins' life has been marked by both professional success and personal challenges. She has a 53-year-old daughter Katy from her third marriage to Ron Kass, plus two older children from her first marriage to Anthony Newly.

Her daughter Katy survived a horrific road accident at age eight, spending 47 days in a coma with serious head injuries and a broken collarbone. Doctors initially feared she wouldn't survive, and she was left with brain injuries.

Collins' current marriage to Percy Gibson represents her longest-lasting relationship. The couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with a star-studded party at Claridge's last year. Remarkably, Gibson is more than 30 years younger than Collins, a age gap she has famously dismissed in interviews with the line: 'If he dies, he dies.'

Originally from Peru, Gibson is a noted Hollywood producer, primarily known for producing Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He stands as the last man standing in Collins' well-documented history of relationships, which includes four previous marriages.
