In a recent interview, the 22-year-old entertainer confessed that her mind has been wandering to wedding details. When questioned if she wanted a ring for Christmas, her eyes reportedly "lit up" at the thought. Siwa disclosed she already has specific ideas for the big day, including a baby-blue colour scheme and a hand in curating the music playlist.
"I need to help Chris make the playlist," she told The Sun. "Otherwise, it’ll be all songs I don't know!" She mentioned wanting to include tracks from NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, contrasting with Hughes's presumed taste for bands like The 1975.
Siwa even joked about her Christmas wish list, telling Hughes she wanted "a ring." After his surprised reaction, she clarified she meant a Ring doorbell, a smart home security device. However, the underlying sentiment was clear.
Chris Hughes Pumps the Brakes on a Christmas Proposal
Despite Siwa's clear hints and even musing about proposing to him herself, Chris Hughes has firmly stated that an engagement is not on the cards this holiday season. He explained to The Sun that he finds Christmas proposals too predictable, noting you "see it on Instagram every year."
He prefers the idea of proposing at a less expected time. Hughes did, however, offer a rough timeline, suggesting it would happen within the next seven years, reasoning that "it shouldn't take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone." He also admitted that being proposed to would make him "really uncomfortable," shutting down the idea of Siwa getting down on one knee.
From Celebrity Big Brother to a Public Relationship
The couple's relationship began under the public eye after they met on the 2025 series of Celebrity Big Brother. At the time, Siwa was publicly in a relationship with Kath Ebbs and identified as a lesbian. Her subsequent breakup and new romance with Hughes sparked significant online discussion.
Siwa later clarified that she felt "pressured" to label herself a lesbian after coming out as pansexual at age 17. She insisted she never cheated on Ebbs and continues to identify as queer.
