Katie Price has reportedly put down a deposit on a house in Dubai and signed a contract, despite concerns from family and friends that she may be the victim of a scam. The 47-year-old former glamour model married Lee Andrews in Dubai in January and, after a brief return to the UK, flew back over the weekend for what she described as a short honeymoon trip.
A source told The Sun that Price has found a property she likes and started the buying process. “She has put money down, the contract is signed,” the source said. “She is really excited and thinks she is going to have her happy ending with Lee. But those close to Katie fear this could be the start of a potential scam. She was only supposed to be in Dubai for two days, but she’s still not returned home.”
The source added that Price’s move to buy a house is “making her closest friends and family anxious”. Concerns have been fuelled by claims made by Andrews on social media and his LinkedIn profile, which lists roles including founder of Aura Sustainable Vehicles & Energy BVI and Blue Diamond Group, and a member of the board of advisors for the Labour Party since 2015.
However, a Labour Party source told the Mirror: “We don't have a 'Board of Advisors' and this individual doesn't work with us.” When approached for comment, Andrews said: “Supporter is the word your after [sic].” He also claims to be Director of Philanthropy at The King’s Trust since April 2018, but the Mirror has been told the Trust has no record of him or any volunteer with that title.
Price has hit back at the speculation, telling fans: “I'm a grown a**e woman.” The Mirror has reached out to representatives for Price and Andrews for comment.
