Katie Price became so overwhelmed discussing her ex-husband Peter Andre that she had to pause filming on her new programme. The former glamour model will share her life story in a forthcoming candid documentary, Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, next week.
Past Partners Featured, But Peter Andre Excluded
Several of her past partners feature in the show, including Gareth Gates and Alex Reid. However, Peter – who was married to Katie from 2005-2009 after they met on I'm A Celebrity – does not. It's evident that the subject of their split remains a sensitive issue for the 48-year-old.
"Some of the places they took me back to meant I had to put myself back into those situations," she told the Mail. The star has had several high-profile relationships in the past, with Daily Star recently looking back at how they ended.
Katie continued: "I found a lot of that difficult. My brain would go fuzzy because I didn't want to think about how I felt then."
Director Witnesses Emotional Toll
The award-winning director Paddy Wivell is at the helm of the show and witnessed first-hand the "energy drain out of her", stating she simply couldn't continue. He elaborated: "It exhausted her because she's living with the traumatic effects of the abrupt end of a relationship. My sense was that she's learned to bury the pain in order to survive it. She told me she'd barely spent five minutes in a room alone with Peter since their split, so to her the conversation hasn't ended."
Children and Divorce Reasons
Katie and Peter, 53, have two children together – Junior Andre, 21, and Princess Andre, 19. For years, the precise reasons behind their divorce were unclear. But Katie recently spoke more candidly about the breakdown, suggesting it stemmed from a misunderstanding that spiralled.
Speaking on Paul C. Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, she insisted the core problem was that Peter wrongly suspected she was conducting an affair with her dressage instructor. She firmly rejected the allegation, declaring: "I've never slept with him. I just kept my horse there and I was happy keeping my horse there and he was married."
For his part, Peter suggested that "something big happened" to bring their relationship to an end. During an earlier interview with Piers Morgan, he revealed: "Something big happened, which I won't reveal as I don't want my kids reading it. Katie knows 100% the reason why I left her, and I am 100% sure that what happened definitely did happen."
Current Relationship and Documentary Context
The documentary comes as Katie continues to navigate the aftermath of her husband Lee Andrews' arrest and imprisonment in Dubai. The couple reconciled last month and, despite the reality star confessing their marriage is "f***ed up" on Instagram, she maintains he is her "perfect match."
