Katie Price has emotionally admitted that she hasn't always been the best mother to her children Princess and Junior, whom she shares with her ex-husband Peter Andre. The former glamour model, 48, makes the confession in her new Sky documentary, Nothing to Hide, where she reflects on her lengthy career and personal struggles.
Documentary Reveals Personal Struggles
Price, who has two older children with Andre, says Princess, 19, and Junior, 20, have yet to watch the documentary, but she hopes it will help them understand her better. In an honest admission, she acknowledges her shortcomings as a mother.
"Junior and Princess haven't watched the documentary yet. But I'll let them. They know bits. Junior did say, 'Mum, there's nothing in there that's gonna embarrass me, is there?'" Price told The Sun. "So I'm like: 'Of course there won't be!' Hopefully, they will be entertained. And they will think: 'You haven't changed, you are still the same and have the same attitude.' I think things will make sense to them."
Explaining Past Behavior
Price added: "They know I had a breakdown, but it might explain why I might not have always been the mum they wanted. I have hurt people in the past. Not on purpose, but I apologise for that. They might also learn why I have this issue with men."
She said she is always happy to discuss her experiences with her children. "But I'm happy to talk with them, it doesn't bother me. It's part of my life. Men have taken advantage of me from a young age and I carry that trauma. So now it's like: 'You can look, but you can't touch me,'" she explained.
Working with Princess on New Show
Price is also collaborating with Princess on her own show. She shared advice she gives her children as they follow in her footsteps. "I've done filming with Princess for her show. She and Junior are very different when I'm there. And I do say to Princess: 'We look the same,' although she's prettier than I was. I tell her to be a bit more cheeky when she's on the red carpet," Price said.
"People are too prim and proper these days. You need to have personality and a bit about you, but she's doing so well. I'm really proud of her. I wouldn't want it any other way for her," she added.
Impact on Children
Price's documentary aims to provide insight into her life and the reasons behind her actions. She hopes her children will gain a deeper understanding of her journey and the challenges she has faced. The documentary is set to air on Sky, offering an unfiltered look at her career and personal life.
