Model and actress Kelly Brook has made surprising revelations about her public image during Saturday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, telling campmates that her celebrated physique doesn't reflect her true personality.
The 'Sex Kitten' Conversation
During the jungle campfire discussions, fellow contestant Lisa Riley directly addressed Brook's reputation, stating: 'You've always been a sex kitten, you know that, you've made a career out of it!'
Brook, who was once voted the 'sexiest woman in the world' by FHM magazine, offered a thoughtful response that surprised many viewers. 'Yeah but it's weird, it doesn't match your soul what you portray,' the 45-year-old explained. 'The face and the facade and the body doesn't match the person. I'm a clown inside!'
The Kent-born beauty, who landed her first modelling job at just 16 years old, has long been celebrated for her figure - particularly her well-publicised size 8 body and 32E chest that propelled her to fame in the 1990s.
From Teen Model to Jungle Celebrity
Brook's relationship with being sexualised began unusually early in life. On the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, she previously revealed that her first job was a swimsuit photoshoot in Portugal when she was just 16.
'Being sexualised like that at such a young age was very uncomfortable,' she confessed. 'I've never felt like a sexy woman. I'm like a clown. I like to make people laugh.'
The radio presenter explained that she quickly secured a modelling agent at 16, but made specific boundaries from the start: 'I remember going into the agency in my school uniform and I said, "I won't do page three and I won't do topless, but I'll definitely do lingerie and swimwear".'
Despite her discomfort with early sexualisation, Brook appears to have made peace with her body as she approaches her 46th birthday, which she'll celebrate in the jungle. Before entering the ITV show, she told the Mail on Sunday: 'I feel really confident. I feel really strong. I feel like my body's in, you know, in good shape. I just feel great. I mean, yeah, I'm 46 and I embrace my curves. I embrace my body.'
Jungle Conversations and Bikini Plans
The campfire conversation took an unexpected turn when the discussion moved to whether men prefer breasts or bottoms, with rapper Aitch contributing: 'It depends, but for the past year I've been a boob man.'
When probed further by Ruby Wax about whether he liked bums, he amusingly changed his position: 'I've always been a bum man.' Wax then pressed him to choose who had the better bottom among herself, Kelly and Lisa, but Aitch cleverly avoided answering directly.
Despite her desire to be seen as more than just a sex symbol, Brook hasn't shied away from showcasing her figure in the jungle. She vowed to 'heat up the iconic Jungle shower' with her selection of perfectly curated bikinis.
'I've got loads of different brands,' she revealed before entering the jungle. 'I've got lots of different bikinis with me, so we haven't actually selected the ones I'm going to be wearing in the jungle yet. They've all gone off to wardrobe to get tested on camera, so they'll decide for me.'
The model's journey from teenage glamour model to confident 45-year-old celebrating her body while acknowledging the disconnect between her physical appearance and personality has captivated viewers of the hit ITV show.
