Radio and television presenter Kemi Rodgers has announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Thomas Hannett following a romantic proposal during a holiday in Australia. The I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked host, 30, shared the happy news with her fans over the weekend, posting a series of beaming photos to Instagram.
A Down-Under Proposal
Kemi Rodgers was in Australia for the duration of the latest I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! series, which ran from 19 November to 7 December. It was during this trip that her partner, senior Capital FM producer Thomas Hannett, popped the question. The couple, who had kept their relationship largely private, are now celebrating their engagement publicly.
In her social media announcement, Kemi simply captioned a photo of her new engagement ring with the words: "I said yes." The post quickly attracted congratulations from a host of celebrity friends and colleagues.
Celebrity Well-Wishes Flood In
The comment section was swiftly filled with messages from well-known faces. Coronation Street actor Colson Smith wrote: “Congratulations Kemi!”, while Capital FM star and This Morning presenter Sian Welby reacted with: “OMGGGG INCREDIBLE.”
Former X Factor contestant Sam Lavery and Capital FM presenter Jordan North also shared their excitement, with North commenting: “OMG! Congratulations guys.” Kemi co-hosts the ITV spin-off show Unpacked alongside Joel Dommett, having joined the presenting team last year.
From Private Romance to Public Engagement
The engagement news comes just weeks after Kemi revealed that she and Thomas had actually been dating for over a year. The pair only chose to publicly 'hard launch' their relationship in September 2025, sharing photos from a romantic getaway to Paris.
At the time, Kemi explained they had preferred to keep their romance out of the spotlight initially. They marked the Paris reveal with a playful TikTok video using the iconic Nicki Minaj "Oui" audio, with Kemi captioning it: "Wine drunk in paris and thought the best way to hard launch my boyfriend on the grid was with the iconic nicki minaj 'oui' video loooooool."
Fans and friends expressed their delight at the couple going public, with one commenting: "The hard launch we’ve all been waiting for." Now, just a few months later, the couple have shared their biggest news yet, moving from a private couple to a publicly engaged pair celebrating a future together.
