Charli XCX has announced the cast for her upcoming A24 film, The Moment, which will feature Kylie Jenner and Alexander Skarsgård among its stars. The film, directed by Aidan Zamiri from a script co-written with Bertie Brandes, is based on an original idea by Charli XCX.
The pop star revealed the cast on Instagram, which also includes Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, and Charli XCX herself. Other actors appearing include Rish Shah, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Richard Perez, Isaac Powell, Tish Weinstock, Michael Workéyè, Shygirl, and A. G. Cook.
Little is known about the plot beyond a brief synopsis stating that Charli XCX will play a fictionalised version of her real-life journey as a rising pop star, navigating the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.
The announcement comes amid speculation that Taylor Swift's new song 'Actually Romantic' is a diss track aimed at Charli XCX. Fans have pointed to lyrics referencing a 'one-sided, adversarial relationship' as a response to Charli's song 'Sympathy is a Knife' from her 2024 album Brat.
