Pop icon Kylie Minogue has opened up about her motherhood battle in her new Netflix series, revealing she delayed cancer treatment to try for a baby. The 57-year-old Australian singer, whose life has been in the limelight for decades, has confirmed she does not have children despite previous attempts to start a family.
A Heartbreaking Admission
In the Netflix documentary titled Kylie, the star candidly admits she postponed chemotherapy in 2005 to attempt IVF with her former boyfriend, French actor Olivier Martinez. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36 while hoping to become a mother. "I even postponed my chemotherapy to try - which was quite scary at the time because you just want it out," she shares.
Multiple IVF Attempts
Despite several IVF attempts, Kylie's dream of motherhood never materialised. "If it had happened it would have been just shy of a miracle. But it didn't work out that way," she reflects tearfully. Her sister Dannii also appears visibly emotional discussing Kylie's maternal instincts, saying: "I never saw myself as a parent, and she always did. That's heartbreaking."
The documentary offers an intimate look at Kylie's personal struggles alongside her glittering career, providing fans with a deeper understanding of the pop star's life beyond the stage.
