Kylie Minogue left fans amazed with her youthful appearance as she celebrated her 58th birthday on Thursday, following the success of her new Netflix documentary. The Australian pop star opted for a white doily-style lace dress and an artistic brown clutch for her special night out.
Birthday Celebrations
The two-time Grammy winner looked incredible as she danced and blew out a single candle on her birthday cake. Sharing her gratitude on social media, Minogue wrote: "Thank you for your birthday love. Another year around the sun and somehow I ended up exactly where I needed to be... knee deep in old home videos."
She added: "Making the documentary reminded me where I come from and why I do all of this. Family forever. Thank you for all the love today. Socks up!" The singer also posted a picture of a mug reading "hold on to now" set before a bouquet of peonies.
Fan Reactions
Fans flooded the comments with admiration. Instagram user @josh_del_rey commented: "58 and fabulous xx." @iluvlucy123 wrote: "Happy birthday to the ageless beauty. Forever young at heart." Another user, @tomblinzig, said: "Still damn pretty and sexy," while @rishikesh_tawde marveled: "Absolutely gorgeous. You always did, and today [have] a beautiful smile."
Netflix Documentary Success
Michael Harte's critically acclaimed three-part docuseries Kylie: Closer Than Ever Before quickly amassed 2.1 million views in its first week after premiering on May 20. In the documentary, Minogue revealed her second cancer diagnosis in early 2021, which she kept private for a time.
"My second cancer diagnosis was in early 2021. I was able to keep that to myself... Not like the first time," she said in the film. "Thankfully, I got through it. Again. And all is well. Hey, who knows what's around the corner, but pop music nurtures me."
The singer first battled breast cancer in 2005, undergoing a lumpectomy and chemotherapy, and was declared cancer-free in 2006. Reflecting on her second diagnosis, she shared: "I didn't want to leave the house again at one point. [My 2023 song] Padam Padam opened so many doors for me, but on the inside I knew that cancer wasn't just a blip in my life."
Career and Personal Life
The documentary also features interviews with her sister Dannii Minogue, Nick Cave, Jason Donovan, and Pete Waterman. Netflix is also streaming Amy James's concert film documenting Minogue's 66-date Tension Tour, which grossed $78.4 million and concluded on August 26.
Minogue, who has 17.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, has sold over 80 million records worldwide since her 1987 release of Locomotion. On the personal front, she has been single since ending her five-year relationship with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons in 2023. She previously dated her Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, French actor Olivier Martinez, Spanish model Andrés Velencoso, and British actor Joshua Sasse.
