Laura Anderson Opens Up on 'Tricky' Blended Family Christmas
Laura Anderson on 'Emotional' Blended Family Christmas

Love Island star Laura Anderson has candidly discussed the emotional complexities of celebrating Christmas with a blended family. The 36-year-old reality TV personality admitted the festive season can be a 'tricky' time as she navigates co-parenting and new relationships.

The Festive Challenge for Modern Families

In an interview with The Sun, Anderson opened up about the unexpected hardships that come with merging families. She shares her two-year-old daughter, Bonnie, with ex-partner and former Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy, 43. Her current boyfriend, Dundee footballer Clark Robertson, 32, has two children from a previous relationship.

'Christmas time... can be an emotional, tricky time,' Anderson confessed. 'I think blended families sort of bring hardship. It's not really something that I expected or had ever dealt with before.' She elaborated on the reality of their situation, noting, 'You have a child and then you meet someone and then they have kids... And actually, it's not always plain sailing.'

A Strong Foundation and Future Hopes

Despite the challenges, Laura was quick to emphasise the strength of her relationship with Clark, which went public in October last year. She revealed the couple will spend this Christmas at his parents' home in the north of Scotland.

'But we're really strong and we're doing better than ever really,' she gushed. 'So it'll be nice to have the kids together around Christmas time because they get on really well.' She expressed immense gratitude for her partner's supportive nature, both as a boyfriend and a father.

The star, who sparked engagement rumours when she wore a large ring to the Pride of Britain Awards in October, previously told the Daily Mail about her contentment with family life. While playfully hinting she needed to 'change the ring' on her hand, she stated, 'I am so happy with family life... Who knows what next for me, maybe another baby.'

From Football Skeptic to Proud 'WAG'

Anderson also humorously reflected on her transformation into a football fan since dating Clark, who plays for Premiership side Dundee. She admitted she used to 'hate' the sport, associating it with her father 'hogging the remote'.

'I guess I'm a WAG now,' she said. 'I actually really like football... I think he looks very sexy actually because he's quite bossy on the pitch and he's not like that day-to-day.' Her new relationship marks a fresh start following her very public split from Gary Lucy in 2023.

As they prepare for their first Christmas together as a blended unit, Laura Anderson's story highlights the evolving realities and heartfelt efforts behind modern family dynamics during the festive period.
