Lewis Capaldi has fulfilled a heartwarming promise to two young fans, Keelan Tiernan and Dylan Bowe, during his Dublin concert at Marlay Park on June 24. The Scottish singer first connected with the boys months earlier on Ireland's The Late Late Toy Show, where Keelan, who has Tourette syndrome, shared how Capaldi inspired him to sing.
Promise Made on The Late Late Toy Show
In December, Keelan and Dylan appeared on the Toy Show, discussing their admiration for Capaldi. Keelan told host Patrick Kielty: "He encourages me to sing more, and also he has Tourette's like I do." Capaldi, then touring Australia, sent a video message apologizing for not meeting them but promised tickets to his Dublin show.
VIP Treatment and Backstage Surprise
On Wednesday night, the boys were treated like royalty. A driver collected them from home, accompanied by a police escort, and they received fast-track access to the venue. Before the show, they were taken backstage to meet Capaldi in person. The emotional encounter included photos and conversation.
Shout-Out from the Stage
During the concert, Capaldi spotted the boys in the front row and addressed the crowd: "These lads in the front row, It's Keelan and Dylan in the front row everybody. They're here today as my guests, they were on the Toy Show this year, very lovely." He then dedicated his next song to them.
Family's Gratitude
Keelan's mother expressed thanks on RTE's Instagram, writing: "What an absolute amazing experience, Keelan woke this morning still buzzing, Lewis was brilliant with the boys so so down to Earth, everyone we met along the way yesterday was so nice and accommodating to us all, we are forever grateful."
