Lewis Capaldi fulfilled a heartfelt promise to two young fans at his Dublin concert on June 24, creating a full-circle moment that began months earlier on Ireland's The Late Late Toy Show. Best friends Keelan Tiernan, who has Tourette syndrome, and Dylan Bowe first appeared on the show in December, where they spoke about their admiration for the Scottish singer. Capaldi, then touring Australia, sent a video message apologizing for not meeting them in person but pledged tickets to his Dublin gig at Marlay Park.
VIP treatment and emotional reunion
On the night of the concert, Keelan and Dylan were treated as VIP guests. A driver collected them from their homes, and they received a police escort and fast-track access to the venue. The surprises escalated when they were brought backstage just before Capaldi's performance. There, the singer met them in person, leaving the boys visibly emotional. They spent time chatting and taking photos before being escorted to the front row.
Shout-out and dedication
During the show, Capaldi spotted the pair and addressed the crowd: 'These lads in the front row, it's Keelan and Dylan in the front row everybody. They're here today as my guests, they were on the Toy Show this year, very lovely. Good lads, lovely family and big round of applause for Keelan and Dylan everyone.' He then dedicated his next song to them, prompting cheers from the audience.
Family gratitude
Keelan's mother later commented on RTE's Instagram post, expressing gratitude: 'What an absolute amazing experience, Keelan woke this morning still buzzing, Lewis was brilliant with the boys, so so down to earth, everyone we met along the way yesterday was so nice and accommodating to us all, we are forever grateful.' The gesture highlighted Capaldi's down-to-earth nature and his impact on fans, especially those with Tourette syndrome, as Keelan had previously said Capaldi gave him the confidence to sing.
