Lily Collins has paid a touching tribute to her father, legendary musician Phil Collins, on his 74th birthday, sharing a series of photographs on Instagram that highlight their bond. The actress, 35, posted images including one from her recent West End play Barcelona at the Duke of York’s Theatre, where she wore a sparkling jumpsuit while her father, a former Genesis drummer, dressed casually in a black zip-up fleece.
Another nostalgic snap showed the pair at Collins' Hollywood Walk of Fame induction in 1999, when Lily was just 10 years old, capturing a warm embrace. In her caption, she wrote: 'From a west coast star to the West End stage and everywhere in between — I’m so grateful to be by your side... The older I get, the greater I appreciate all the little, special moments spent together.' She concluded: 'Happy birthday Dad. I couldn’t love you more... To the moon and back again.'
The tribute also included a video from Hotel Eden in Rome, where Lily noted her autograph now sits beside her father's on the hotel walls, remarking: 'Like father, like daughter. So proud to share space with you.'
Phil Collins, now retired from performing due to nerve damage and spinal issues, has spoken openly about his health struggles. In his documentary Phil Collins: Drummer First, he said: 'It’s still kinda sinking in... To suddenly not be able to do that is a shock.' His last public performance was with Genesis at London’s O2 Arena in March 2022.
