Love Island's Jasmine Muller Open to Dating Footballers Again After Bellerin Split
Love Island's Jasmine Muller Open to Dating Footballers Again

With the World Cup approaching, ex-WAG Jasmine Muller is set to bring drama to Love Island. The 27-year-old Dubai-based star previously dated former Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin, but she insists she is not put off by the footballer lifestyle.

Jasmine's View on Dating Footballers

“I'm open to getting to know everyone,” she said. “If I like you, I like you, so I'm not put off from dating footballers.” Jasmine and Hector dated in 2021, and she describes the relationship as healthy and lovely. “That relationship was so long ago, I don't think about it anymore. It was a very healthy and lovely relationship and I suppose it did prepare me a little for high profile things but my main preparation has come from my mum and my sister and my friends. I have a huge support network.”

What Jasmine Looks For

Jasmine is clear about her deal-breakers: “My biggest ick is an insecure man. I'm quite a secure woman so I can't date an insecure man.” She added, “Honestly, how would he deal with me? That's the real question. I don't think insecure men could handle me. I pick up on insecurity straight away, and it just wouldn't end well. By the end of it, he'd probably hate me.” Her type on paper is “objectively hot,” and she plans to go “straight for the goal.” “Life is too short to play it safe, that's boring. You don't go on Love Island to play it safe.”

Inspired by Shakira Khan

Jasmine hopes to follow in the footsteps of Shakira Khan from series 12, who came second on the show. “Being a fellow brown girl, it was lovely to see her be so honest. I hope I can do that for other brown girls.” She also aims to be a peacekeeper but admits, “I'm always involved in everyone's business. I'm basically the auntie of the group. Everyone literally calls me 'Jasmine Auntie.'” However, she acknowledges the challenge: “I'm so used to being there for other people that putting my issues first is a new thing. But I just think of what my Mum would say and what she would tell me to do. She's so supportive, she even zipped up my suitcase to come here!”

Love Island returns Monday 1st June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
