Married At First Sight participant Gia Fleur has openly shared that her romantic involvement with new partner Alan Wallace actually commenced while she was still actively filming the popular Channel Nine television series. The 36-year-old bride provided exclusive details to the Daily Mail, explaining that their initial connection ignited during that now-notorious evening out with fellow contestant Bec Zacharia in October. This pivotal moment occurred nearly a full week before her televised marriage to Scott McCristal completely collapsed on screen.
The Unexpected Spark During Filming
Speaking with remarkable candour, Gia admitted she first contacted Alan while attempting to uncover information about her then-husband Scott. "We were FaceTiming Alan because there was a situation where he was with Scott's ex, and I was honestly trying to dig up some dirt on Scott at that point, because we were going downhill," she revealed. "I was like, oh, he dated Scott's ex—what could I find out there? But, yeah, he was in the gym and I was like, wait, he's kind of hot. Like, who's that?"
What began as simple curiosity rapidly evolved into something significantly deeper. "And then I slid into Alan's DMs after that. And yeah, we were just talking, I mean, just friendly. But then when I came off the show it progressed," Gia elaborated. The pair maintained communication for several months before finally arranging an in-person meeting at a social event, where chemistry immediately became apparent.
Instant Chemistry and Bold Moves
"Yeah, we met… we were talking for a couple months and then we met at an event," she explained. "He was with another girl and I was just jealous. And I was following him around and saying to my friends like, 'What's he doing now? Who's he talking to?'" Gia described the attraction as immediate and utterly undeniable. "It was an immediate thing. Soon as I saw Alan, I was like, what the hell? Like, I don't know. There was just something. Like, undeniable. He felt it as well," she said.
The evening took a dramatic turn when Gia decided to make her intentions unmistakably clear. "And then later that night I finally grabbed him and kissed him in the toilets, 'cause I was like, no, you need to come with me. And that was it," Gia disclosed. From that moment forward, the couple became virtually inseparable.
Building a Life Together
Now, the relationship has advanced to substantial new levels, with the couple cohabiting and establishing a family dynamic. "Yeah, we've moved in together… while we sit here right now he is taking my daughter to school, so he's the best guy ever," she shared warmly. Gia also directly addressed speculation that their romance constitutes a publicity stunt, firmly insisting the relationship possesses authentic depth and sincerity.
"I would do MAFS all over again to have met Alan. So, you know, everyone's saying it's PR and it's like fake relationship and it's like, you know… he is such an amazing person," she explained emphatically. "We live together and I'm with him every night and he's amazing for my daughter, my whole family loves him. I love his parents and his brother."
A Healthier Relationship Dynamic
She characterised the romance as the most wholesome relationship she has ever experienced. "Yeah, I mean it's probably the healthiest relationship I've ever been in… I feel safe, so I don't wanna run away," Gia stated. "He makes me feel reassured and loved and compliments me all the time and tells me he loves me. I'd never got that before."
Reflecting upon her unsuccessful marriage to Scott, Gia highlighted clear distinctions with Alan. "I think the difference with Alan and me, is that we're just more compatible. Like there's a lot of things in common," Gia revealed. She added that this relationship has facilitated the emergence of an improved version of herself. "I feel like he's getting the best version of Gia that maybe Scott and all other exes didn't get because now, because I'm being loved… I'm treating him right," she said.
Contrast with Previous Marriage
This revelation follows Gia's public confirmation of her previously secret romance with Alan, alongside a startling admission regarding her relationship with Scott. "I can't keep pretending I'm with Scott," she added. "There's only so long you can fake something before it starts to eat away at you."
During the comprehensive interview, Gia further disclosed that she and Alan have gotten matching tattoos, symbolising their commitment. She emphasised that her connection with Alan developed organically after filming concluded, describing it as a genuine fresh start following the difficult dissolution of her on-screen marriage.
"I didn't go into this looking for anything," she explained. "But sometimes the right person comes along when you least expect it." While Gia avoided specifying an exact timeline for their romance, sources close to the couple have indicated they grew close shortly after the experiment ended.
Alan, who previously appeared on the reality series Love Triangle, reportedly bonded with Gia over their shared experiences within the reality television spotlight. Insiders reveal their connection swiftly transformed into romance. "They just clicked straight away," one insider commented. "After everything Gia went through on MAFS, Alan has been a real support for her."
This new chapter presents a stark contrast to Gia's turbulent relationship with Scott, which unravelled dramatically during the final weeks of the experiment. Behind the scenes, tensions had reportedly been escalating for weeks, with insiders suggesting trust issues and explosive arguments plagued the pair long before viewers witnessed their marriage deteriorate on television. The couple's separation has since unfolded publicly, with both parties offering conflicting narratives about what ultimately caused the relationship to fail.
