The festival's opening week featured legendary bassist Nile Rodgers and iconic 1980s band Duran Duran, along with other big names from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Nile Rodgers and Chic Bring Funk and Disco
Nile Rodgers entertained the crowd with his smooth, funky basslines, joined by the new version of his hit band Chic. The group performed some of their greatest hits, getting people dancing to disco and funk classics. Rodgers was clearly living it up on stage, smiling and rocking out with the audience in Hyde Park.
Scissor Sisters and Mel C Collaborate
Mel C was invited onto the stage to share a moment with Jake Shears, lead singer of the Scissor Sisters. The duo performed together as the sun shone down, with both showing off their ripped physiques—Mel C displaying her toned midriff and Shears flexing his muscular arms. The Scissor Sisters, known for their outlandish style, brought a dash of colour and theatrical energy to the festival, with Shears running around the stage and dancing with fellow vocalist Ana Matronic.
Duran Duran Deliver Iconic Hits
Eighties smash band Duran Duran also entertained the crowds during the first week. Guitarists Dom Brown and John Taylor were seen rocking out as they delivered some of the band's most iconic songs. John Taylor in particular was feeling the energy of the crowd as he played bass on their hit tracks.
