Millie Radford Shares Intimate Details of Pregnancy Journey and Family Challenges
Millie Radford, the seventh child of Britain's largest family featured on Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting, has exclusively opened up about her pregnancy struggles and family life as she anticipates the arrival of her fourth child with husband Harley Passmore. The 24-year-old reality star, already a mother to Ophelia, five, Chester, four, and two-year-old Elodie, revealed the complexities of balancing her growing brood with the public spotlight.
High-Risk Pregnancy and Birth Fears
Millie disclosed that her current pregnancy has been particularly challenging, marking a departure from her previous experiences. "All my other pregnancies have been absolutely fine, but this one, the first eight or 10 weeks, were really, really bad," she admitted. "I struggled going to work and doing my daily stuff because I was feeling so poorly." Due to being high-risk, she attends hospital appointments every two weeks, with plans for an early induction in September.
The decision stems from complications during her last pregnancy with Elodie, who was born at 38 weeks after developing tachycardia and placental calcification. "Basically, I think my body just gave up a bit earlier than it should have," Millie explained, highlighting the underlying anxieties that accompany her current condition.
Family Dynamics and Support Systems
Despite the challenges, Millie emphasized the invaluable support network provided by her extensive family. "That's the good thing about there being so many of us, there's always someone there to help when you need it," she said. "Mum always makes herself available, no matter what." However, she firmly stated that four children will be her limit, contrasting with her parents' 22-child household. "Oh no, I've said to Harley, when this one comes out he gets the snip and I'll get my tubes tied. Four is definitely enough."
Reflecting on her upbringing, Millie recalled the chaotic yet cherished moments of growing up with numerous siblings. "It was just mayhem - but lovely mayhem," she described, noting routines like timed bathroom queues and early morning alarms. "Maybe that sometimes you felt older than what you actually were, because there were so many younger ones and you were just trying to help Mum and Dad - so you grow up faster."
Navigating Public Scrutiny and Personal Life
Life in the public eye has become normalized for Millie, who works as a cleaner while Harley serves as a stay-at-home dad. "It feels like the norm to me, and I think it's the same for my brothers and sisters," she remarked. "Yes, people often recognise us out and about, but that's quite nice really." To cope with criticism, the family adopts a selective approach: "We don't even read comments. I know that sounds awful, but someone once told me, you can see 100 positive comments and one bad comment, and that bad comment will always take over the good ones."
The couple briefly separated earlier this year, sparking rumors of a publicity stunt, which Millie firmly denied. "That was crazy. So, Harley had lost his job, and we were bickering about that. Then I found out about a week later that I was pregnant," she clarified. "We had a wobble, but we're a great team. Harley's the one for me." Their parenting styles complement each other, with Harley providing structure while Millie handles practical tasks, though she humorously noted his aversion to laundry: "Harley doesn't know how to use a washing machine. Everyone knows how to use a washing machine, right?"
Future Aspirations and Family Mishaps
Looking ahead, Millie expressed interest in a potential fly-on-the-wall show with Harley. "Me and Harley love filming - it would be great to get our own show one day," she said. "It's nice as well to have those moments to look back on, to show your children." She also recounted a memorable family disaster during a trip to Florida, where expired ESTA visas forced them to delay their flight. "That's probably our biggest disaster so far," she laughed, underscoring the unpredictable nature of family life.
As Millie prepares to welcome her son, she remains focused on the joys and trials of motherhood, supported by her loved ones and resilient in the face of public attention. Her story offers a candid glimpse into the realities of pregnancy, family bonds, and life under the spotlight.
