The synopsis reads: "I, Jack Wright is a propulsive whodunnit with family secrets at its core. The apparent death by suicide of high-powered businessman Jack Wright sends shockwaves through his family, leaving a mystery that pits greed, loyalty and suspicion against one another."
Starring Nikki Amuka-Bird, John Simm, Daniel Rigby, Ruby Ashbourne-Serkis, Zoë Tapper, Percelle Ascott, Harry Lloyd, and Liz Kingsman, the series first aired in April 2025 on U&Alibi before being acquired by the BBC. The BBC has also secured series two, currently in production.
Critical Acclaim
The programme boasts a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with one critic noting: "Finally a thoroughly excellent story, told with sharpness and high tension... and at no point did any character have me yelling 'no-one acts that way! Why would you do that?!' - the way 98% of modern drama does. Every character consistent, true to their own story. Right up to the last moment. Great stuff."
Broadcast Details
I, Jack Wright launches on BBC One on Sunday, July 12, at 9:15pm with a double bill of episodes one and two. All episodes will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
