Rafe Spall, 39, has been seen publicly with his new girlfriend Esther Smith, 35, following news of his separation from wife Elize du Toit. The couple, who play on-screen spouses in the Apple TV+ series Trying, were spotted walking hand in hand in Notting Hill before heading to a local pub.
The outing comes after reports that Spall and du Toit, who married in 2010, separated last year due to growing apart. An onlooker described the pair as 'very happy and comfortable in each other's company', adding that they 'gave the impression of being a couple who have been together for some time'.
Spall dressed casually in a blue shirt, cream mac, blue trousers, and Converse trainers, while Smith wore a black jumper and coat, straight-leg jeans, and black high-top trainers. She completed her look with a navy beanie hat and sunglasses tucked into her jumper.
In previous interviews, Spall spoke warmly of Smith, calling her 'my favourite person I've ever done acting with' and noting that their on-screen chemistry is something they both enjoy. Spall and du Toit share three children: Lena, 11, Rex, 10, and a six-year-old son. The family moved to the Cotswolds in 2019.
