Shona McGarty, best known for her role as Whitney Dean on EastEnders, has been confirmed as part of the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2025 line-up. The actress left the soap last year and has since been working in theatre.
McGarty said she has 'always wanted' to do the show and is looking forward to being herself away from the scripted character she played for years. 'Everyone expects me to wear massive gold hoop earrings and have a ponytail while eating chicken nuggets! But I am nothing like that,' she said. 'I’m looking forward to using this experience to be completely myself, which nobody has seen.'
This year's cast also includes fellow EastEnders actor, comedian Tom Read Wilson, former Lioness, and rapper Aitch. Tom Read Wilson, known for Celebs Go Dating, admitted he is 'fearful as a porcupine' about entering the jungle but follows a rule that if the only reason not to do something is fear, he must do it.
Aitch, real name Harrison James Armstrong, cancelled gigs to take part. He hopes to raise awareness for Down Syndrome, a condition his sister has, and inspire young viewers. 'On a personal Harrison level, this show is something I grew up watching in our house. It would almost be disrespectful to say ‘no’. Why would I not do it?' he said.
Other contestants include content creator Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, who has over three million followers and has never been away from social media for more than a week. Jack Osbourne, son of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, also joins the cast, saying he is nervous but intrigued to see how he will survive in the jungle.
The final is scheduled for this Sunday, with a double elimination taking place in tonight's episode.
