Sofia Vergara's Festive Vienna Getaway: Red Tartan and Hotel Sacher Glamour
Sofia Vergara's Christmas in Vienna at Hotel Sacher

Sofia Vergara celebrated the festive season in grand style, sharing a series of glamorous photographs from her Christmas holiday in the Austrian capital of Vienna. The 'Modern Family' actress turned heads with her stylish ensembles and choice of iconic accommodation.

A Festive Fashion Statement in the Hotel Sacher

For her main Christmas celebrations, the 53-year-old Colombian-American star chose a striking strapless red tartan dress. The festive frock perfectly highlighted her famous hourglass figure and showcased her décolletage. Vergara complemented her look with a luminous makeup palette, wore her dark hair down in soft waves, and added elegant jewellery including a sparkling diamond pendant.

The photos were taken within the opulently decorated lobby of the legendary Hotel Sacher, a historic establishment synonymous with Viennese luxury. The hotel is situated just a stone's throw from both the Vienna State Opera and the Albertina Museum.

A Star-Studded Guest List and Family Time

Vergara was not alone for the festivities. She was accompanied by her 34-year-old son, Manolo, a chef whom she shares with her first husband Joe Gonzalez. Joining them was Vergara's close friend, the renowned 'Eyebrow Queen' Anastasia Soare, founder of the Anastasia Beverly Hills brand. Soare's daughter, Norvina, and Norvina's boyfriend, Jack Alexander, completed the festive party.

The group posed together beside a large Nutcracker figure in the hotel lobby, capturing the classic Christmas spirit. Their chosen hotel is a relic of 19th-century Habsburgian luxury, where a deluxe room can cost over €1,000 per night. The two presidential suites command a staggering €10,000 for an evening's stay.

The Hotel Sacher boasts an extraordinary guest book. Historical figures include Queen Elizabeth II, Greta Garbo, Grace Kelly, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. More recent celebrity visitors range from Justin Bieber and Kate Moss to Emma Stone and Bruce Willis. Author Graham Greene stayed there in 1948 while researching his screenplay for 'The Third Man'.

Boxing Day at the Opera and a Sweet Signature

The celebrations extended into Boxing Day, where Vergara attended a performance of Engelbert Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel at the Vienna State Opera, located directly opposite her hotel. For this cultural outing, she wore a plunging strapless gown, accessorised with a luxurious fur coat and a statement necklace.

No stay at the Hotel Sacher is complete without sampling its world-famous signature dessert. The establishment is celebrated for its Sacher Torte, a rich chocolate sponge cake with a layer of apricot jam, which dates back to the 19th century and remains a Viennese icon.

Sofia Vergara's festive getaway perfectly blended family time, high culture, and the timeless glamour of one of Europe's most historic luxury hotels.
