Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the relationship status of rock legend Steven Tyler and his long-term partner, Aimee Preston. A Friday report from TMZ initially claimed the pair had parted ways earlier this year, only for the outlet to later cite a source denying the split.
On-Again, Off-Again Reports
According to the initial TMZ story, the 77-year-old Aerosmith frontman and the 38-year-old Preston ended their 11-year romance at some point in early 2024. However, shortly after the article's publication, the site updated its report, stating a source close to the couple had insisted they are not broken up and are "doing just fine."
The couple was last seen publicly together in February 2024, looking affectionate at the Jam for Janie GRAMMY Awards Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium. They have been a fixture on red carpets for years, known for their displays of affection, including kissing, hugging, and holding hands.
A Romance That Began as a Working Relationship
The pair first met in 2012 when Tyler hired Preston as his personal assistant. Their professional relationship blossomed into a romantic one approximately two years later. Preston has been a steadfast support for Tyler, notably standing by him in May 2022 when he voluntarily re-entered a treatment programme.
That relapse was reportedly triggered by pain medication following foot surgery. His commitment to recovery led to the postponement of several Aerosmith Las Vegas residency dates. Tyler has been open about his long and public history with addiction and sobriety.

Steven Tyler is a father to four children. He is famously the father of actress Liv Tyler, 48, whose mother is model Bebe Buell. With his ex-wife Cyrinda Foxe, from whom he divorced in 1987, he shares a daughter, Mia Tyler.
He also has two children, Chelsea Anna and Taj Monroe Tallarico, with former partner Teresa Barrick; that relationship ended in 2005. Prior to meeting Aimee Preston, Tyler was engaged to Erin Brady, but they called off the engagement in January 2013.
