Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Marry in Star-Studded Wedding at Madison Square Garden
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Marry in Lavish Wedding at MSG

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have married in a lavish, star-studded ceremony at New York's Madison Square Garden, which was transformed into a romantic countryside venue with real trees and flowers. The celebration continued into the early hours, with Adam Sandler officiating and performances by Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Tim McGraw.

Wedding Details and Surprises

The event, described by insiders as "Alice in Wonderland meets Wizard of Oz," featured no bridesmaids or groomsmen. Kelce's brother Jason served as best man, while Swift's brother Austin acted as man of honor. Swift's four nieces served as flower girls, scattering petals as she walked down the aisle. Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed the arrangements.

Swift expert Anna Pointer, author of Taylor in Love, told the Mirror: "It's Taylor, so it's no surprise there were lots of surprises. She does like to do things that people aren't expecting. Having the four gorgeous Kelce daughters was so much more personal and intimate than the rumored 13 bridesmaids."

Officiant and Attire

Adam Sandler officiated, a move Pointer called "something that nobody saw coming." She added: "He's really close to them both and got to know Travis really well on the set of Happy Gilmore 2. They have a bromance going on and a very similar sense of humor." The bride and groom wore outfits by Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Christian Dior. Swift dazzled in a white floor-length haute couture gown with a dramatic train and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.

Guest List and Disruption

Among the 1,000 guests were Jay-Z, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Hugh Grant, and Anna Elisabet Eberstein. The event caused major disruption, with Madison Square Garden shut down and nearly 200 NYPD officers deployed over a busy holiday weekend. The couple donated $26 million to various charities to offset any inconvenience, according to Pointer.

Pointer said: "If there was any sense of residents being put out by the street closures, then the $26 million they donated to various charities really made a statement. It said, 'Look we are giving back, we've given something to these worthwhile charities.' Who can resent that when they are doing so much good?"

Performances and Vows

Following the ceremony, billboards reading "Just Married" were displayed outside MSG, and the Empire State Building was lit up in blue as Swift's "something blue." AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, in a now-deleted social media post, revealed that the venue was draped in peach and white, and the vows were "long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations." He added that large childhood photos of the couple were prominently displayed.

Pointer noted: "Sir Paul McCartney probably played a couple of songs and Taylor's a massive Stevie Nicks fan so that would have been a dream come true for her. She was heard doing a soundcheck with Stevie so it's likely guests were treated to a duet from them."

Notable Absences

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were noticeably absent, with Swift and Lively reportedly having grown apart. Swift is godmother to all of Lively's children and referenced them in her song "Betty" from the Folklore album. Taylor and Travis began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement last August via a joint Instagram post that joked: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
