Tom Cruise has been seen moving out of his £35 million apartment in Knightsbridge, London, signalling a return to the United States. The 63-year-old Mission: Impossible star purchased the property in 2021 and has long expressed his love for Britain, but staff were recently observed packing up and removing boxes from the residence.
The reason for his departure remains unclear. Cruise, a New York native, had previously described himself as an Anglophile, stating in 2022: 'I spend a lot of time in Britain, and that's not just for work reasons. I just love being here.' He enjoyed walks in Hyde Park, attended Wimbledon and Glastonbury, and developed a friendship with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Cruise joined Prince William at a fundraising event for the London Air Ambulance charity in February 2024. 'We have a lot in common,' he said of the prince. 'We both love England, and we're both aviators, we both love flying.'
It is not yet known where Cruise will settle next. Reports from 2025 suggested he was eyeing properties in the Cotswolds, where fellow American celebrities Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Ellen DeGeneres have homes. However, Cruise also owns a penthouse in Clearwater, Florida, near the Church of Scientology headquarters, and previously had a ranch in Colorado.
