Travis Scott, the ex-partner of Kylie Jenner, has been accused of mocking Timothée Chalamet after the actor lost the Best Actor Oscar to Michael B. Jordan on Sunday. Jordan won for his dual role in Sinners and broke down in tears during his acceptance speech at the Dolby Theatre.
Scott, who shares two children with Jenner, posted a photo of Jordan crying on his Instagram Stories shortly after the ceremony. Fans interpreted the post as a dig at Chalamet, with one writing: 'Travis Scott is a professional hater I love it.' Another commented: 'Okay, please this is so iconic lmao. Because tell me when was the last time Travis Scott care about the Oscars?'
Chalamet also faced mockery from host Conan O'Brien, who referenced the actor's recent controversial comments about opera and ballet. During his opening monologue, O'Brien joked about 'attacks from both the opera and ballet community,' prompting laughter from the audience. The camera showed a red-faced Chalamet sitting next to Jenner.
Chalamet's night worsened when a viral clip showed an awkward interaction between Jenner and his sister Pauline at the ceremony. Pauline approached her brother, and Jenner reached for a hug, but the embrace was brief. Viewers described the encounter as 'awkward,' with one writing: 'Looks like she's never met her before in her life… This is what a PR relationship looks like.'
Pauline has previously criticised billionaires and private jet owners, which some have linked to Jenner's estimated $710 million fortune. Despite the tensions, Chalamet referred to Jenner as his 'partner of three years' at the Critics' Choice Awards, calling her his 'foundation.'
