Bergerac's Second Season Finale
Filmed on location in Jersey, the contemporary reimagining of the iconic crime drama follows troubled detective Jim Bergerac, portrayed by Brassic star Damien Molony. The original Bergerac television series aired during the 1980s, featuring John Nettles as the fictional detective. It received a reboot in 2025, with 42-year-old Damien taking on the leading role. The programme boasts an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for series one, and its second season launched in April, with the series finale airing last week.
Alongside Damien, series two saw Zoë Wanamaker return as Bergerac's formidable mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford, Robert Gilbert as police officer Barney Crozier, and Chloé Sweetlove as Bergerac's daughter and Charlie's granddaughter. Newcomers included Adrian Edmondson as Nigel, Lesley Sharp as Monica, Turlough Convery as Michael, and Camilla Beeput as Nicola. The series finale, episode six, depicted a trapped and desperate Bergerac negotiating for his life while piecing together the mystery's threads.
