Pedro Pascal fans went wild over the weekend as the actor was revealed as the latest A-list star to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story. The 51-year-old, who first rose to fame as Oberyn Martell in Game Of Thrones, read the cosmos-themed book Meet The Planets by Caryl Hart on Friday evening.
Pedro Pascal's Love for Storytelling
Speaking about his passion for storytelling, Pascal said: 'I love storytelling more than anything in the world. I loved stories as a kid, mostly at night, because I would take them into my dreams.' He added that he always asked for a story to help him sleep, whether from a book or his mother's imagination.
Adult Fans Tune In Too
It wasn't just young viewers who were thrilled. Thousands of adults admitted they planned to watch the episode. On Facebook, comments included: 'I thought our time with CBeebies was long gone... perhaps not,' and 'Can he come to my house to read it? I would understand it better in person.' Another fan joked: 'I need to borrow a child to watch CBeebies without looking weird.'
A Long List of Celebrity Readers
Pascal joins a prestigious lineup of stars who have read on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, including Tom Hardy, Chris Hemsworth, Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, Ryan Reynolds, Dolly Parton, Idris Elba, and Sir Elton John. John Harkins, executive editor since 2019, told GQ he is continually surprised by the caliber of celebrities who want to participate. He recalled filming Dolly Parton in Nashville: 'She requested to do it and invited us over to Dollywood, set up with loads of teddy bears. She wanted to know how to read and asked our advice.'
Pascal's Recent Oscar Appearance
In March, Pascal sparked concern among fans when he debuted a clean-shaven look at the 2026 Oscars. Many took to social media to comment on his transformed appearance, with some joking he had been 'cloned' or looked like a 'wax figure.' Others wondered if he had lost weight for a role.
