GK Barry's Faking It Documentary Exposes UK Porn Industry Reality
GK Barry's Faking It: Inside UK Porn Industry

Social media sensation GK Barry, best known for her light-hearted podcast Saving Grace, is making a dramatic shift into serious documentary filmmaking. The 26-year-old star is fronting a new hard-hitting film called Faking It, which offers viewers an unfiltered look inside the UK porn industry.

Behind The Scenes Of A Controversial Industry

Produced as part of LADbible's For F*ck's Sake campaign, the documentary goes behind the scenes of what it describes as "one of the world's most controversial industries." The film, set for release on Monday, December 1, will be available to stream on FFSProductionsHub.com and LADbible Stories on YouTube.

Faking It specifically examines the significant gap between on-screen portrayals of sex and real-life intimacy. The documentary details how porn shapes modern attitudes towards intimacy, identity, and self-image for both content creators and viewers.

GK Barry's Eye-Opening Journey

Throughout the film, GK Barry - whose real name is Grace Keeling - embarks on a revealing journey that includes visiting the UK's largest swingers club and meeting creators at the Porn Star University. She explores how performers balance their professional and personal lives while simultaneously challenging common stereotypes about sex work.

The documentary features candid interviews with prominent porn stars including Andy Lee, Katy Summers, and Josh Lane, a former porn addict. Through these conversations, Barry tackles complex themes including body image issues, addiction, consent, and the differing experiences of men and women within the industry.

Barry brings her signature self-deprecating humour to balance the documentary's more difficult questions as she navigates an industry that few people ever see up close. She also examines the blurred lines between genuine intimacy and what is portrayed on screen as 'real' sex, questioning what younger generations should actually be learning about communication, connection, and aftercare.

Asking The Tough Questions

The film doesn't shy away from asking the questions many viewers have quietly wondered about. Can audiences genuinely distinguish between porn sex and real intimacy? Where does responsibility lie - with content creators or consumers? And is any form of porn capable of being truly authentic?

Speaking about her experience making the documentary, GK Barry shared: "Going behind the scenes with LADbible was eye-opening to say the least! I went in not knowing what to expect but the experience made me challenge my own perceptions of porn and the people behind it."

She added: "I hope the episode will have the same impact on viewers, so that young people realise what they are watching isn't always the full picture."

The 26-year-old star first launched her career on TikTok, where she now boasts an impressive over 275 million likes and six million followers. Beyond her documentary work and podcasting, Barry has become a regular panellist on Loose Women since last year, making her the youngest ever panellist in the show's history.

Her television presence expanded in 2024 when she joined the lineup for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, eventually becoming the eighth star eliminated from the programme. The following year saw Grace debut her acting skills in the Netflix drama Missing You, join Jimmy Carr's Am I the A**hole? on Comedy Central UK, and join the BBC Radio 1 presenting lineup.

Despite recent budget cuts affecting ITV, Barry has confirmed she has no plans to leave Loose Women, describing her co-panellists as "the loveliest women I have ever met in my life" and emphasising the importance of having a women-led show on television.
